Håkan Charles-Harris, MD, FACS, is a well-known recognized leader in advancements in General, Vascular & Endovascular Surgery in South Florida. Dr. Charles-Harris received his medical degree from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica and his surgical training from Mount Sinai in New York City. Dr. Charles-Harris is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He was Chief of Surgery at North Shore Medical Center from 2003 through 2009 and is currently Vice Chief of Staff of the Hospital. He is a leader in new innovative surgical methods.
Dr. Charles-Harris has trained numerous healthcare providers from both local and international schools. He is a Clinical Professor for both NovaSoutheasternUniversity and Miami Dade College’s Physician Assistant Program. He also enjoys being a career counselor in the medical and nursing fields to high-school students.
After working in Europe, the Caribbean and North America, Dr. Charles-Harris brought his broad practical and theoretical background to South Florida in 2000. His practice is based in a private setting in North Miami. He performs surgery in both Broward and Dade counties and attracts patients from not only all over the State, but also internationally.
